Ralitza Baranowski

Ralitza Baranowski, MD, is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust, London.
Following her graduation at the Medical University of Sofia, Bulgaria, she:
- Joined ICON Clinical Research and earned significant experience in clinical trials as a clinical trial leader.
- Joined Doctors without borders (MSF), spending 11 months at Darfur border in Chad, Africa as a field MD and additional 5 months setting up an emergency room at the Afghani border in Pakistan.
- Trained in Cardiothoracic Surgery in specialist units at Leeds NHS Trust, Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust and Barts NHS Trust.
- Completed a robotic fellowship in Thoracic Surgery at St Bartholomew’s hospital.
Dr. Ralitza Baranowski is a member of the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS), European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS) and Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain and Ireland (SCTS).
She is a co-investigator in clinical trials, authored numerous scientific journal publications and presents internationally on her expertise.
In addition to clinical research activities, she provides mentorship to medical students, junior doctors, fellows and nurses.
